This winter, give the gift of housing for homeless veterans and their pets!
$96,374.07 raised, $3,625.93 to go!
More than half a million Americans are homeless. Low incomes often do not allow individuals and their families to earn enough to afford basic necessities, much less a place to call home. This is particularly troublesome in Los Angeles, where 3 out of 4 people experiencing homelessness remain unsheltered. Their housing crisis continues to worsen, and the number of beds needed for the homeless is projected to keep increasing.
While options like shelters and transitional housing exist to combat the problem, more than a third of all homeless people currently reside in places that are not meant for human habitation, like the street or abandoned buildings. One of the reasons they’re left out in the cold? They have pets.
Most homeless shelters in the country simply cannot accommodate animals and for those who consider their pet a part of their family, there is nowhere for them to go. Of these Americans, nearly fifteen percent are veterans.
That’s where Rescue Rebuild, a signature program of Greater Good Charities, has stepped up. Rescue Rebuild is heading to LA Family Housing (LAFH) in May to remodel a facility for veterans to accommodate their pets. This will help add to the 11,000 people they already serve each year. The best part? The new facility will keep the whole family together, including their furry companions. We need your support to reach our goal of $100,000 to make this project a reality. Give the gift of a home this winter.
No pet or veteran should be left behind—or out in the cold. You can help make sure veterans and their animals have a safe home. Just $5 can make a difference. Donate today!

Wonderful project! It should go all year long, not just for the holidays.
